30-5-2016 MONTE CORONA, ADOR - CASE BEARING LEAF BEETLE (Lachnaia paradoxa)


Lachnaia paradoxa is a species of leaf beetles in the subfamily Cryptocephalinae. It can be found in Algeria, Morocco, and south Spain.

Body Length: 6 to 12mm
Family: Chrysomelidae - Leaf Beetles
Subfamily: Cryptocephalinae
Found in North Africa and Southern Spain.
Habitat: Woodlands, grasslands, scrubland.
Feed on various vegetation, so like most Leaf beetles Lachnaia paradoxa is regarded as a pest; because of the damage they can do to various crop plants.
