28-11-2016 JURONG, SINGAPORE - YELLOW BELLIED BULBUL (Alophoixus phaeocephalus)


The yellow-bellied bulbul (Alophoixus phaeocephalus ) is a species of songbird in the bulbul family, Pycnonotidae.It is found on the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra and Borneo.Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.


Colorful and easily recognizable, this attractive bulbul has a bright lemon-yellow belly, snow-white throat, bluish-gray head, and greenish upperparts. Lack of a crest distinguishes it from other similarly-colored bulbuls within its range. Found in lowland and hill forest, often in mixed flocks. Calls are coarse and dry-sounding.
