29-8-2023 CREU DI LONGA, ALBUFERA - LITTLE EGRET (Egretta garzetta)

Egrets have a sharp beak for hunting their prey. In the breeding period they are adorned with long white feathers that can measure up to 15cm.

In the breeding period, characteristic crests appear (two very long plumes) which disappear after breeding.
