Lifespan: The plant lives for 7 to 10 years, producing about 200 to 250 commercially viable leaves.

Lifecycle: It blooms only once in its lifetime, sending up a massive 5 to 6-meter flowering stalk (inflorescence) with yellowish-green flowers. The plant dies after flowering, but regenerates via basal suckers and small bulbils on the stalk.
