Thalictrum tuberosum (tuberous-rooted meadow rue) is a hardy perennial, typically featuring masses of waxy white flowers in early summer and distinctive tuberous roots. Native to rocky pastures in Spain and the Pyrenees, this species grows well in well-drained, humus-rich soil in sunny or partially shaded spots.

A clump-forming, tuberous perennial with blue-green leaves divided into ovate or lobed leaflets and, from midsummer into autumn, wiry stems bearing white flowers with prominent, bright yellow stamens.

Thalictrum can be rhizomatous or tuberous perennials with ternately or pinnately divided, often attractive foliage, and panicles or racemes of small flowers with showy stamens and sometimes large colourful petal-like sepals.
